Depending on the activities of the body and HALO Finance, categories may include company/ownership records, agreements, customer and supplier records, employee/contractor records, accounting and tax records, invoices and payment records, intellectual property, marketing records, website/platform records, information-security records, legal/compliance records and communications.
4. Records available without a formal PAIA request
Public website information, published legal notices, public marketing material, this PAIA manual and other records deliberately published by HALO may be available without a formal PAIA request. Customer workspace data is not automatically available to the public.
5. POPIA processing information
HALO processes categories of personal information described in the Privacy Notice. Recipients may include authorised customer users, professional advisers, hosting/infrastructure providers and authorities where required by law. Cross-border flows, if any, are assessed under POPIA. General security safeguards include access controls, tenant-scoped database queries, authentication controls, password hashing, request-integrity controls, audit logging and incident management.
6. How to request access
A requester should use the prescribed PAIA request form and provide sufficient information to identify the record, requester, right to be exercised or protected, preferred access method and other information required by PAIA. Requests can be sent to createdbyhalo@gmail.com. Applicable statutory fees may be requested where permitted.
7. Grounds for refusal and remedies
Access may be refused where PAIA permits or requires refusal, including protection of third-party privacy, confidential commercial information, safety, legally privileged records or security. A requester who is dissatisfied may use the complaint or court remedies available under PAIA.
8. Availability and updates
This manual is made available electronically through the HALO Finance website and must be updated when material information changes. A formal copy should also be retained by the private body as required.
